Hitting the Road

When my clients Becky & Al saw a blog post about Olive Goes to Hollywood, they contacted me to see if their dogs, Sandy and Mimi, could get in on the fun. I loved the idea of two little friends being part of one of the chapters, so I was thrilled.

One of the things I had wanted to show in "Olive Goes to Hollywood" was her and her friends walking down a palm-lined street. I used to live in Hollywood and remembered a few less crowded streets, so the day before I drove around and found the perfect one. Even so, we kept having to stop shooting to let cars pass - it wasn't easy with three dogs all off-leash. Mini Schnauzers are very jumpy!

I always loved this shot. I felt like the three ladies here were doing their "Charlie's Angels" pose. But I couldn't figure out how to make it work in the story of the book, so it just ended up being left out.
